Off to Chinatown!
We parked several blocks away and rushed to the gallery because we thought we were late. Turns out, when they say "6:00 to 8:00" they really mean "6:00 to 9:00" so it wasn't a problem. We walked into a small, charming, one-room gallery that was in a retail / office building. Lou and I brought the average age up a bit. Our friend's brother, sister-in-law and nephew were there. I spotted the parents right away (the only other couple over 50 in the room).

We hung around for about an hour, chatting with Adam, Michael, Dena and a few others. Lou and I enjoyed Adam's pictures, which are images of flowing water, flora, fauna and rocks in inter-tidal zones. Michael spent quite a bit of time with us. They were visiting LA from the San Francisco area to attend their son's opening, so they didn't know anybody there either. Thanks for keeping us company, Michael!
Walking from the car, both Lou and I noticed that the sights and smells reminded us of Taiwan. It's hard to read the green sign on the left. It says: "Sincere Imports Limited".
.
After the show, we walked around a bit and glanced in some windows. The shops looked a lot like those we saw in Taipei. Lou started getting hungry from the smells :)
We went home and picked up some Japanese food on the way.
